 Ways to STRESS Less….

 This month I thought we could have a look at some Healing Helpers for STRESS!

Stress is something that seems to be a normal part of our everyday lives, but unfortunately it adversely effects us in lots of different ways…

Physically

  • Causing headaches
  • Stomach problems
  • Sleep issues
  • Physical pain
  • Weight gain
  • Muscle tension and tightness
  • Chest pain
  • Heart issues
  • Jaw issues
  • Joint issues
  • Issues in the bedroom
  • Low energy and more…

Emotionally 

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Anger
  • Sadness
  • Frustration
  • Fear
  • Irritability
  • Resentment
  • Feeling overwhelmed
  • Lack of motivation
  • Inability to focus
  • Inability to make decisions
  • Inability to cope
  • Low self esteem and more…

Behaviourally

  • Overeating
  • Inappropriate outbursts
  • Coping issues
  • Drug or alcohol abuse
  • Excess tobacco use
  • Feeling out of control
  • Withdrawing socially and more…

A lot of the time we see these things as normal and don’t do anything about them until they become extreme…

Learning to live with stress isn’t living though, IT’S JUST EXISTING!

The more we can do take the stress out of our lives, the more we can actually start living it…

So, following are some simple and effective ways that we can reduce stress…

Breathing

We all breathe as a matter of habit, but we don’t use breath to it’s full capacity.

When we are stressed, angry, sad, fearful, frustrated etc we tend to breathe and hold it all in, making our muscles tight and filling ourselves with all that tension.

When we consciously choose breathe out the stress, anger, sadness, fear, frustration etc we are actually giving our Unconscious Mind permission to let it go, and when we do we instantly start feeling better.

The more we breathe out the more we release, the more we release the better we feel!

This is so easy and effective and something we can do anywhere!

Living More Consciously

Taking time to more consciously breathe can help us on so many different levels…

To help…

Take a nice deep breath in and imagine breathing that breath up to the top of the head, and then as we’re breathing out imagine that we’re breathing it down through the body and out through the feet…

Breathe again, and repeat again…

Before too long we tend to find that we will start to feel…

  • More grounded
  • Calmer
  • Clearer
  • More centred
  • More peaceful
  • Less stressed…

If we add to that, as we are breathing out feeling our feet on the ground, we become…

  • Even more grounded
  • More present, more here Now
  • Calmer and clearer
  • More in control

If we practice taking the time to breathe like this and then…

  • looking around for what we can see
  • hearing what we can hear
  • smelling what we can smell

We become more conscious, and by becoming more conscious, we are… 

  • more in this moment
  • more aware
  • calmer
  • clearer
  • more in control
  • more peaceful
  • no longer stressing!

And, all that took was half a dozen breaths!!!

And, by taking the time to do this we are taking action and telling the Universe, that we are worthy and deserving every time we do this for ourselves!

WIN/WIN/WIN/WIN/WIN!!! 

Getting Out In Nature

Getting out in Nature is sooooo under rated!

As soon as we step outside, Mother Nature starts working with us to help us to release our stresses and worries and put our bodies back into it’s natural biorhythms.

The more time we spend time inside the more we are stuck in our heads, and when we are stuck in our heads, we stay stuck in our problems.

By walking outside, taking some time to breathe and be, we can get a more balanced perspective.

Depending on our Elemental Type, some people need to spend time around…

  • Trees
  • Water
  • Mountains or
  • In the Sun

To recharge their batteries, and again if we can’t get there in real life, going there in our imagination can work wonders as well!

When we have a lot of emotional stuff going on being around the Water, especially the Ocean can be particularly beneficial for us.

Water is the symbol for emotions and moving water, like the ocean, help us to heal and release our swirling emotions.

We don’t need to live near the ocean for this to be effective, we can also visualise spending time on the beach in our imaginations and the ocean energy will still work with us.

Affirmations

A fabulous Affirmation to help us to Stress less is….

‘I create peace and harmony within me and around me…’

To get the most benefit out of this Affirmation, say the words to yourself and then imagine breathing the words up to the top of your head, and then breathe them out through the body and out though the feet.

Repeat another 5 to 10 times when 1st working with it and then a minimum of 3 times when repeating it throughout the day.

You’ll start feeling better, calmer and clearer in no time!!!

Meditation

The idea of Meditation is to get us out of our heads, to slow down our thinking, relax mind and body to bring us to a nice, peaceful place.

There are lots of different ways to Meditate, we can do it by…

  • Seeing the candle, being the candle
  • Visualisation Meditations – where we go somewhere, do something
  • Trance and chanting Meditations
  • Listening to Guided Meditations
  • Joining a Meditation Groups
  • Going for a walk
  • Exercising
  • Being out in Nature
  • Doing the washing up

Anything that gets us out of our constant thinking and takes us to a relaxed space is beneficial.

If we can allow ourselves time to drift in Meditation for at least 10 to 15 minutes a day, we can reduce stress to no end!

This can be even more effective if we do this for ourselves 1st thing in the morning, because it sends the message that we are worth taking time for and that’s a powerful message to start the day with…

Meditation is also great when we are working with the Law of Attraction, because when we are in that peaceful place we are offering no resistance…

Crystals

Crystals can help us in so many areas of our lives and helping us to deal with stress is just one of them.

Having Crystals around, beside our beds, in our work area, wearing them as jewellery, carrying them in our pockets etc, can help us to shift and release so many issues.

If we have lots of stress going on around us we need to remember to cleanse our Crystals on a daily basis!

Angels

We have our Angels and Guides with us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, loving, protecting and supporting us in every moment, as much as they can.

The thing is though, that they can only help us to a certain point, and for them to help us to their full capacity we have to ASK them for their help.

They can’t go against our free will, so we need to call them in for them to be really effective.

A lot of the time we don’t think we are worthy, or deserving, or that the Angels have so many other more important things to do than waste their time with us, but that is so far from the truth.

All of our Angels are omnipresent, meaning they can be with everyone and everywhere at the same time, so they can help us and be saving the rest of the world at the same time!

And they really want to help us, because their role is to help us to reach our true potential!

So, the more we can get into the habit of calling on our Angels the more they can help us in all areas of our lives.

The more we ask for their help, the more we chip away at that huge, big, gigantic boulder we carry around that says we don’t deserve.

Also, the more we ask, the more we get into the habit of asking the more we remember to call on them when we are going through the big things!

The best way to work with them is to say these magic words…

‘Please help me to release my fears and my worries so that I can…..’

… so that I can feel better today

… so that I can find what I need to at the shops today

… so that I can know that I am safe

… so that I can know that the kids are okay

… so that I can release my stresses…

Then take a nice big, deep breath and breathe out all the fears and worries, and you will instantly start feeling better!

I loooove the Bush Flower Essences and there are so many issues, physical, mental and emotional, that they can help us with.

This month for stress, I recommend…

  • Bottlebrush – Helps clear out negative conditioning, calms, helps us to better cope

  • Jacaranda – Helps us to focus, regroup, centre ourselves
  • Little Flannel Flower – Helps us to lighten up, feel freer

These are all the Essences in the CALM AND CLEAR ESSENCE Combination and fabulous for getting us out of ARGGGGGHHHH into AAAAHHHHHH….

Reiki

Reiki is an absolutely fabulous modality to help us to release stress.

Reiki itself is an ancient Tibetan Healing technique that helps to bring us down to that nice, relaxed, meditative space where we can start to heal.

When we are stressed, angry, frustrated, sad, overwhelmed, negative etc we tend to hold it all in, and unconsciously we are holding our muscles really tightly, blocking our Life Force Energy from flowing freely.

This can cause physical pain, more stress, and more problems as we are continually holding in the things that don’t serve us, and before too long those things start to become toxic to us.

Reiki helps us to firstly get in that nice, relaxed state so the mind can slow down and know it’s safe.

It then works on helping the physical body to relax so our Life Force Energy can start flowing more freely again.
